Camera for streaming

Hello i am considering starting to live stream and i have an old nikon j1 laying around it is from 2012 and i was wondering if i could use this for a stream cam ? or would a normal logitech brio be better?

A high quality webcam would be better for that because you can just use the USB output instead of the J1 HDMI output (if it even has one) and a capture card. The brio seems a bit overkill tho, maybe a logitech c615?

Any digital camera can be used for streaming. I recommend to stream the sound with a separate mic though.. not the default camera mic. I'd just test out the quality and play around with it.

elgato has a usb plugin that you should be able to connect your camera to your pc.
