you could, but you'll experience some bottlenecking from that cpu... it depends on the performence you want/need...

I want to be able to play some of the latest games that come out on 60+fps on medium/low settings on 1080p as well as have a lot of google tabs open

yeah, that can be done without it in gpu bound games, but balanced or cpu bound games are going to have a hard time with it...
