Story is, reinstalled windows on SSD however my friend had the HDMI cable in the motherboard while doing it, instead of his GTX 970.

Booted up windows, everything works.

However we realise he is running on Onboard graphics instead of the GTX 970.

When we change the cable over the Graphics Card, we get no video output, unable to even go into bios.

It works when plug the HDMI cable into the motherboard however not for the GPU.

We cannot install drivers via GeForce Experience because it needs to be running off the Nvidia Graphics Card in the first place.

We have tried disabling the Onboard Graphics via Device manager and restarting the PC with the HDMI cable plugged into the Graphics Card, however no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas to how to fix this ~ something we have to do in the BIOS.

If I have left anything unclear please ask, we are becoming desperate.

Yes, the graphics card works perfectly In my computer.

Only other thing I can think of is trying the card in a different pcie slot on your friends mobo. If he only has 1 slot it may be tricky. Im not aware of a bios setting that would switch off the pcie slot.

You could try resetting the bios to default

It is only a mini-itx board funnily enough.

We have also tried resetting the cmos.

Officially ran out of ideas.
