Does Android OS support 'MPEG-4 Audio (.m4a)' files ?

I am planning to switch from iphone 6s to google pixel 3, but I recently found out that all the music I bought from iTunes are in MPEG-4 Audio (.m4a) format.

If i want to migrate all those files from ios to android, will it be supported in my new phone ?

I prefer to use the stock music player as my native music app.

Yes,. All my phones have played my Youtube downloads (MY CHANNEL) archives,..
Youtube downloads them, I see in properties they are AAC Audio codec driven.

I contacted a support person at google, he said that music downloaded from iTunes will not be supported on the pixel device (unless i use a audio converter to convert them into mp3 )

Yes it does.
Just get the VLC app from the play store and you can open basically any media file
