Here is my final list (I changed the case as per your recommendations):

The aegis ram was 2£ cheaper but you selected the V series or something, making it more expensive and I couldn’t see why... I swapped out the old vengeance lpx for some with a white heat spreader for build aesthetics with the white/black cooler and motherboard and white LED fans at the front.

seems fine to me... btw, the cooler is available in black/red, black/green, black/yellow and black/white, so you can even choose between those

Please may I get some advice. I am currently looking at building my own pc over buying a dell inspiron 3670: https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/desktops-and-all-in-ones/inspiron-desktop/spd/inspiron-3670-desktop/cd367010

The requirements are as follows:

CPU: i7 8700 / ryzen 7 2700x or better

GPU: gtx 1050ti or better

PSU: high grade PSU (tier 1 with decent warranty)

memory: ddr4 2666mhz

ssd: SATA is fine needs to have a pretty good read/write speed though

mobo: preferably 4 ram slots (64gb max) or higher for upgradability

HDD: coming from donor as well as software.

front things: optical drive, usb and memory card reader (sd card)

monitor: equal or better. freesync?

overall-aesthetic: professional-looking

sellers: NOT amazon

needs at least 2/3yrs warranty (1 for less important things

ships to UK in GBP

im looking to be doing some gaming/programming in this build.

Thank you in advance!

Excuse me, but one moment...

This config pairs an i7 EIGHTY-SEVEN-HUNDRED with a TEN-FIFTY TI.

Did I read that wrong or is that terrible

he probebly needs a good cpu for coding. i get it... but knowing even a 580 is not that much more and i have to compete against a prebuilt, it's easy for me

Thank you soooo much! I’ll have a look into it (I thought it couldn’t be done!). You’ve just made my day.

Yeah, kinda but the inspiron is meant for HOME use. Dell has alternatives for gaming among others. I think they may also use it as a buzz-word!

For gaming you would be fine with a £149 R5 2600. For programming you would need to look at what cpu is best for your needs. No point getting an 8 core if you can't make use of it.

Hmmmm.... that’s a good point. I’m pretty sure this is what I want, but I’ll check the demands for everything. (May also be used for rendering now).

Again, thank you guys so much for the help!

well, the 1700(x) will give you a bit less in gaming, but if your software can utilize the cores, it will be worth the extra 25 bucks imo

i heared that before... correction just for you then

570=~1060 3gb-1050 ti

580=1060 6gb

?

Again, thank you all for you help, I have revised the parts list you gave me:

I decided to swap out the memory for something slightly cheaper - I will not be overclocking anyway for warranty reasons. It is still 2x8G, however.

The monitor: I changed this to a 75hz freesync monitor because with the rx580 I doubt I’ll be pushing frames that high (I would rather a higher quality render if that makes sense?). Please correct me if I’m wrong. I changed the case and added an optical drive (I know it’s so last millennium) there’s also room for a 2,50 as card reader. I may upgrade this with the spare money in the budget.

Is this good? And I if have a bit left in the budget (as in if essential parts I miss calculated were required) what should I change?

i would change the case to a focus g (mini/atx, choise is yours) for better airflow

is the ripjaws more expensive over there then? i just chose it because it had cl15 for a bit more than the aegis

quality over frames is a personal choise, I'm like that too btw. you could just get a 60 hertz and overclock it to 70-75 hertz...

that would be about it for me
