Gskill Memory Problem

Luisa

Hello,

I bought Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 and a Asus Rog Strix x399-E Gaming motherboard.

The memory speeds aren't showing (shows only 2133mhz instead of 3200mhz) so I did the memory configurations according to this document.

Although when I restart the PC, the RAM lights won't work, stays on for a few seconds, shuts down by itself for a few seconds more and turns on again.

Resetting the settings makes the PC work again properly.

I did update the BIOS and everything seems connected as properly.

What else should I try?

Thank you.

Try running it at only 2933MHz? With Ryzen, 1st gen more so, reaching high memory frequencies is a hit or miss thing.

And are the modules in the right slots as mentioned in the manual for best quad channel configuration?

Hmm not sure, I put them in random slots I didn't know this was a thing.

There's your problem most likely.

And this with normal values, not configured ones.
