Metasploit ... ??

I've recently started penetration testing... So when i found out abou metasploit pro.... I was soo excited.... But when I saw the price... I was imminently dissapointed because its waay out of my ability... So.. the comparison between the tools listed in metasploit community edition ve metasploit pro .. I that (obviously) metasploit community edition is leagues away from its pro counterpart... So is there anyway to circumvent this issue... Free of cost... And can i write any of my own?  I'm open to suggestions.. (I just want the features of metasploit pro for free)
