Hello everyone,

I recently got a new router, the Netgear nighthawk ac2600 model R7450, 4 days ago and started having issues with wifi connections as soon as it was connected. I tried changing channels and even looked at qos thinking i was getting kicked off due to someone else streaming in the house but nothing has helped fix the issue.

My logs list disconnected at 12:34:42 and reconnected at 12:34:57 as an example, just long enough to freeze my game or get me booted to lobby. When i checked uptime it shows my wired connection having no loss in uptime since the reset and wifi 2.4 and 5 both longer uptimes, but the WAN timer will reset when i have the issues. I have contacted netgear support and they had me update the firmware to V1.2.0.36_1.0.1 and reset but i had another day of around 35 disconnects Thursday, after my isp reset the connection and said they dont see any issues on their end, and i had 27 Friday.

I factory reset twice on friday in preparation to return it and since then i was 55 hours without a disconnect..until it started again. I havent changed any settings since then. I do not use a modem the router is connected straight into a wall jack from my isp with a 30ft cat6 cable. The connected devices are 3 android phones, 3 tablets, 1 wired pc, a wii, and two laptops. On average only 3 to 4 devices are in use at a time, im using an android s9 phone and an amazon fire mostly but i was watching linus youtube videos on a 3rd device (an adroid tablet) and thought either it was the culprit or watching linus for two hours broke it. Once i turned the tablet off again the issue persisted for the past few hours. So with only 1-2 devices it still happens it seems. I will attempt another reset and see if it stables out.

Ive seen similar issues on netgear forums but most were older or didnt seem to have a fix, so i decided to reach out here in hopes of some experts providing some help on the issue. Any help is appreciated before i return this and get another linksys or another brand if anyone has better recommendations.

Sorry for the long post, i just wantes to provide as much information and background as i could.

Here is an example of the logs and the uptime status.

I've been told to not worry about the dos scans already on another post. However they sure look suspicious sometimes when i see speed drop or disconnects around the same time. Maybe my isp will give me a new ip since i cant find a way to block some of the more frequent ones.

my wifes Pixel would randomly disconnect and have issues if I have the 5ghz network on. I have the Netgear R7000. Try disabling the 5ghz network and checking.

If it was one device disconnecting it wouldn't be as bad, but when it happens everything is dropping. Im pretty sure its faulty firmware but maybe I've overlooked something. Ill test turning 5ghz off and see if anything changes, but if thats the case i should just return it and get a cheaper router without 5ghz.
