So about a week ago my Ethernet stopped working. So naturally i checked the cables and router with my laptop and they worked. Seeing this i ordered a new nic card and when i installed it that didn't work. With this i assumed it was a problem with windows 7 so i looked up the way to get a new ip address assuming this was what was causing my problem.I uses ipconfig commands and when i got a dhcp error from this i took the steps necessary to make sure it was working and the dhcp was. So i went to the Microsoft website and used their netshell utility to reset my tcp/ip and that still didn't work. SO i then set out to update my drivers and i used driver easy to update my Ethernet controller and this still didn't work. Im stumped here so what is my next step should i buy windows 10 and do that or whats my next step i cant keep using a wifi dongle its too slow.
