So I just built my computer on Christmas, but since then I've been having random shut downs, but they arent just resets or power downs, the monitor and peripherals go dark while the PC ramps up the fan speed and all LEDs are still going. Any cause?

Are any components overclocked? Are the RAM sticks in the correct slots (from motherboard's manual)?

Have you tried running memtest?

No over clocking, ram sticks are in b2 and a2 as described by the manual and it picks up all 16 GB. I haven't tried memtest.

Did you enable the XMP profile in your BIOS? If so disable it.

I did, it's called d.o.c.p but the problem occurred with it and without it.

Interesting. Try doing a memtest as Imbellis suggested with that disabled.

Looking at my bios showed that my 3200 speed ram is running at 2133 is this the problem?

No, that means XMP is disabled which is what we want right now.

Well it hasn't crashed in a bit so that's good. But it's so irregular that I can't imagine this maintaining... This morning I played for 2 and a half hours without it crashing, but when I switched gears to YouTube and a game download it crashed
