So. I just bought a new GPU for my PC

until now I used the Graphics card that my pc came with (R9 380, 4GB) the new GPU I bought is a Vega 56 8GB made by Asus (the RGB version)

so now here's my question

are there any things I should consider? do I need to reinstall Windows / Linux or can I just reinstall my Drivers?

(sorry if some of these questions are stupid but I'm new to PC gaming and I'm pretty young so yea)

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x (Stock)                              RAM: 16 GB Samsung ram

GPU: 2080 Super                                                SSD: 256GB Samsung 980 Evo

In my experiences I do the following:

- Check to see if your PSU has enough wattage to run the Vega 56

- Uninstall current AMD R9 380 drivers

- Physically install the Vega Graphics card

- Boot and reinstall graphics drivers for Vega 56

Try and get a second opinion, but I wouldn't want to plug in a vega 56 to that psu.

thats fine, psus are not expensive and easily replaced.

I'm just gonna wait and see if the GPU works with my power supply

it will work, the real question is how long will it work for, and if the PSU dies can you afford to replace anything that it might kill?
