new power supply

my current build:

8 gb of ram gskills ripjaws

gtx 1070 8gb OC edition

amd 2600x cpu

GA-AX370-Gaming motherboard

1tb hdd

120gb ssd which has windows on it

 

600 watt bronze certified powersupply (looking to get gold certified for safety had a bad experience with a bronze certified one fried my whole set up)

 

can i get away with a 550 watt gold certified to power my system? i just dont feel comfortable on a bronze certified one anymore after it fried my whole system

What are you talking about exactly?
There are good 550W for cheap (Bitfenix Formula) ones and shitty/old ones as well.

reread i made the post more coherent. i want a trusted maker so bitfenix corsair evga etc. would anyone recommend a refurbished one as well? or is there safety issues there

Yeah but what PSU are you looking at?
And "trusted maker" don't mean shit as they all can (and will) do more or less good shit.

And in Gold, the differences aren't that small either...

A good quality 550W is more than you need, you can save the money or get a better unit.


The Rosewill Photon is unknown as it is not tested. The used plattform can be good or not depending on what Rosewill paid for.

 


Since you're in the US, you probably can't get the ones I'd recommend for a reasonable price (for example Cougar GX-F).
