I did some cable managing on my computer, and when I put it back together, and got everything set up I noticed that my frames were beyond low, so I installed EVGA precision to check my GPU speeds and my 1060 6gb  is running at 139Mhz(which it should be running in the 2000s range) Idk if there is something I missed, or if my graphics card is outright dead. Someone help because I am freaking out and if it is dead I am going to be pretty heckin upset

Did any of the temperatures look weird?

When I get into a game and things start rendering it knows to boost and hits 1000mhz for like half a second and then drops back to 139 and then jumps between 139 and 850(ish)

What do you mean by "managing" your computer? Did you do anything with drivers? Seems like your card might be thermal throttling when it doesn't need to.

I didn't do anything with my drivers, and I have a tempered glass side panel and my cable management was garbage so I rerouted everything on the back side of the PC, the usual temp of the GPU is like 40 so it is actually running cooler it definitely isn't thermal throttling

It may not be, but what I meant is that your GPU thinks it's thermal throttling. This may be caused by bad software, or a bad sensor. Try to reseat the card and reinstall drivers.

Okay, make sure your GPU is plugged in properly, make sure both ends of the 6-pin power cable are plugged in correctly, try replacing the cable with another one. If you're still having trouble, uninstall and reinstall your GPU drivers, and as a last ditch effort, try reinstalling Windows.

Yeah I would make sure all the cables are in correctly, it almost seems like it's not getting enough power...

Can you use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check the GPU voltage and see how power it's drawing?

Also in game, is GPU at 100% load?

Alright the reinstall windows thing makes me want to redo my drivers cause I did clone my windows from one ssd to another one. But should I try that cable thing first?

I would definitely make sure they are seated/inserted correctly just so we can rule that out.

I could be wrong but the fact that it can only hold full clock speeds for a couple seconds sounds like a power delivery problem. I say I could be wrong because most card's I've used won't even post without their power cables connected. The fact that this happened while you were doing cable management however makes it sound like you may have accidentally knocked a cable out of it's place.

I am gonna try to reseat the power cable cause a lot of people have said that so far lol

Try checking the cables first, and whether that fixes it or not, I'd still recommend doing a fresh install of Windows and the newest NVIDIA drivers.

Okay um... I was having the problem before this, but I just looked down and my GPU ISN'T EVEN PLUGGED INTO THE 6 PIN CONNECTOR

Well hopefully that will solve your problems, it clearly wasn't getting enough power. Better to have checked now and save a headache later. I wasn't aware that a GPU could run with only 1 of the 2 connectors interested, learn something new every day.

I mean 1050ti's run on just the PCIe lane, pin connectors are just steroids for GPUs *shrug*

Don't stress, it's happened to me when I've done some cable management and I forgotten to plug everything in again. One time I thought a stick of my RAM was broken but it was just not seated properly. Either way, I'm sure you won't make that mistake again and so you're better and smarter because of it.
