Sleeving Cables without cutting cable?

Is there any way to sleeve cables without removing the end connector/ cutting the cable?

(not really for my rig, but for my headphones, but I figured that the case mods section would have more experience with it)

It's possible, it won't nearly be as clean though.

The only way would be to use larger diameter cable to fit it over the connecters. You might be able to stretch it to make it tighter on the cable, but you might be able to see the cable through. Either way the ends will be messy because you'll have to use a fair amount of heatshrink to get it to stay in place.

 I see, I guess I'll have to practice a bit on some cheap stuff until I am ready to cut my headphone cable (or chicken out) Either way, my cable is removable and I can order a spare for $4 so not all is lost if I fail.

 

(And is there a really stretchable sleeve so I can fit the connectors over? my cable is ~2mm, my connectors is 1 cm....)
