New-old Gaming rig of a poor man

Hello everyone,

I'm Tom from Poland, and i am going to tell you the story of my "new" rig.

Sorry for spelling mistakes. (If you can, please correct me)

I wanted to play some simple games, but my laptop (AMD based HP 255 G2) is on its last legs, and it can't play YT without crashing. The sollution was simple.

Buy some old stuff and MAKE IT GREAT AGAIN!
I found a guy who was selling an old HP Compaq dc5850 Small Form Factor (2 core AMD Athlon). No RAM, no HDD, just the MB, CPU, PSU, case and ODD. He gave me

a 512MB 667 MHz Apacer RAM stick and said if I want the computer it's mine for 40PLN that is about 10 USD (i will use USD from now).

I bougt a monitor with it - a 17inch HP1702 (1280x1024) for 5 USD. After i brought it home it was cleaned so it would be ready for some upgrades.

Starting specs:
AMD Athlon 4450B @ 2,3GHz Dual Core
512MB 667MHz Apacer RAM
No HDD
No GPU (Could run on the onboard one) - It was nice (up to 256 MB)
AT-2701FX - 100Mbs fiber networking - DELL? IDK

First problem
I don't have any 3,5 inch HDDs but i have some 2,5. By some i mean 4.
1. 80GB Something in perfect condition - Boot in my free Pentium 4 machine :)
2. 500GB HGST from my laptop - replaced with a Sandisk SSD Plus 120GB
3. Identical 500GB HGST from my mobile drive - sweet coincidance
4. 680 GB Toshiba from my clients notebook - On its last legs - My mobile boot drive, and pendrive.
Because dc5850 has a RAID controler I have made my first RAID0 Array with the two HGST Drives for fun and the POWEEEER... or just for fun ;)

Seccond problem:
Because i'm some kind of a hamster i have everything DDR1, DDR2, DDR3.
Found this:

1GB 800MHz stick. It's a waste of speed but 1,5GB is better than 0,5GB(?)
My mashine was almost ready. I knew that i can browse the web and watch movies on it, but i wanted more. I wanted to play Euro truck Simulator 2, South Park,

and some other games on it. i needed a GPU.
A guy was selling a Asus EAH4570 (512MB) for 8USD. So i bouth it and because is was old and the OEM fan was shot i ziptied an slightly newer one i got from a

friend with some other pieces. Some case-cutting, and disassebly later the card was in! ;) (I had to cut the frame of the case so VGA was usable)

Upgrade complete! no... no...
One more thing.
Later i thought i will need more RAM baseuse i told my fiance that i will make our wedding invitations. One week later BINGO! A company was selling a mix of

DDR2 sticks for 1,5 USD/stick/1GB. I needed 3 GB so with the discount i paid less than 4USD for 3 sticks of kingstone 1GB 800MHz RAM.

But how can you make graphics on a square 17 inch display? I'm not stupid. So i bought another screen. This time it's a Samsung 193P 19inch Dual Hinge Pivot

Monster! for 8 USD. But the DVI cable was too expensive for my taste - 2,5USD :(

And finally, last week I bough a Kingstone SA400 240GB SSD for 15USD brand new at work ;)

Let's calculate:

Case, MB, CPU: 10USD
Monitor 1: 5USD
Monitor 2: 8USD
DVI Cable: 1,5USD
Ram Upgrade: 4USD
GPU: 8USD
SSD: 15 USD
----------------
TOTAL: 51,5USD.

The saddest thing is that i paid 14USD for a new keyboard and mouse :(
