Hi,

I'm finishing building my PC and I'm very surprised to see that there's apparently only one fan "port" on the motherboard, while the product page says otherwise as you can see here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-10#kf

I'm attaching the page of the manual. What am I getting wrong?

You're correct. After rechecking the specs I can that's what they are referring to. Now this sucks. Is there any possible workaround (without a splitter)?

Possible workaround for what?

For connecting my other case fan. There are plenty of 4-pin connectors I'm not using like the one for the RGB. Could this be used to power up the fan, even if I can't control the speed?

No, because they don't have the correct pin-out.

What about hooking the fan up to your PSU?

How do I do that? I think I would need a 3 pin connector to SATA, which I don't have.

You can get an adapter for that, but that'd mean that the fan would be running at max speed 24/7...

EDIT: By "24/7" I meant as long as the PC's running, not actually 24/7... :P

I think I'd be better off with a splitter so I can connect both fans on the same port on the motherboard.

Yeah, I guess that's the better option in most cases. ;)

Bad pun aside, I'm not an expert when it comes to fans, but I guess you shouldn't go overboard in terms of the amount of fans/their voltage... :P
