There are pll that are treating to ddos me and hack me for myn ingame items.

I worked hard for those thing i'm not willing to lose then.

I know that someone already was hacked for his items via a skype call.

I also use skype and having livestreams on twitch so better security is more then welcome.

What are the recommended security options?

I might buy hotspot shield if that could help or are there better solutions?

I rather buy it now just to be safe than regretting it after a few weeks that i did not.

Are you actually being attacked? I didn't realize someone could exploit the Skype I.P. bug unless they were connected to you in a call, even then, you could always just use a different Skype account, and hide your information, sort of like they do in the majority of podcasts I watch.

Have you got good security at the router level? Generally a good, well password protected router, with thwart most script kiddies.

At the end of the day my friend, if someone wants your stuff, and it's connected to the internet, they will get it, but the majority of people that have the skill to be able to use such an attack, wouldn't be using their expertise to steal in-game items :)

Never, ever give out your skype name or info, Anyone with 30 seconds and the right search into google can get your IP from Skype. Twitch doesn't do anything like that.

Play smart, don't give out your skype name or go to unknown websites on/off stream, don't go into any TS servers etc and you should be okay, if you want extra protection then look into a VPS with a VPN.

I haven't been in the skype call with that person.

However there was someone else that i know who was in his call and was indeed being ddossed and lost his items

I don't understand? A DDoS attack would just make his internet go slow as crap, "Distributed Denial of Service" attack, which basically floods your network with a load of data packets, making it hard for your router to send out legitimate information.

I don't understand how they lost their items through that? They would have been exploited, but more than likely the attacker probably just did something as easy as guessing their password.
