 So I'm thinking about starting to build a gaming pc.

The games I play are

Red dead redemption 

Fallout 74

Smite

Here would be my set up

Mother board 

Intel i5 7640x

Evga dark x299 or

Gigabyte Aorus x299

Graphics card

Radeoen 470 8gb sapphire or 

Asus strix 390 8gb

Memory 

DDR4 8gb (2x4gb)

G.skill 2133 or 

Off brand 2400 mhz

please don't waste your money on that platform, that chip or even anything around it. what is the budget for your upgrade, what is your location and anything else I need to know?

 

edit: some other parts need change too, but I'll show you after I have made something up

this would not only be cheaper, it would be more reliable, faster and look a lot less cheap, you have a waaaaaaaaaaaaay better upgrade path, am4 will be supported untill 2020. what do you think about it?

i guess this means i am learning something, if i put together a build that was similar to THE @LukeSavenije

it was a fair try. but there aren't that many good matx boards for ryzen (yet). but that one isn't bad. in the other ways only your ssd and psu are better, but not required here.
