Hi all

Brief

Ok when I built my pc a couple years ago I decided to get two small SSD's. One for OS and one to Cache my 1TB Hard Drive.

But after suddenly doing some performance tests on my OS SSD I notice it was running at nearly exactly half it should.

Its a Kingston Hyper X 90GB with a read - 550mb and write - 440mb

My test came back with read 270 and write of 180

After reading online I found that trim may be disabled because of the RAID configuration for the ISR. But I have manually set the trim in CMD and it confirms that it is on for.

Main Question

If I take the cache off the HDD and out of RAID and back to AHCI will my OS SSD run to its full potential. Also will I loose any data!

Thanks

lose*

Anyway, the slow down in speed is probably caused by repeated use over time. Removing from the cache may give it more free space to garbage collect, and will boost  performance by a bit.
