Im gonna play pretty much anything I can get my hands on to; ff15, fallout 76, monster hunter world, pubg, and pretty much any triple a title that comes out for the next 3-4 years. Also right now i have a 60hz monitor, and when i save more money im getting a 144hz one, but not going over 1080p

Oh wonderful! You might be better off with something from intel like an i9 9900k or i7 9700k for 144 hz.

That's a lot of money. If your budget allows, then sure. But if he had that kind of money I doubt he would be looking at a 1700x.. an 8600k is a great option for gaming and it's better priced than the 9700k much less the 9900k lol.
