corsair veng ddr4 ram

Hello i currently have a 2 4gb cosair ddr4 veng ram at 2400hz however i saw that the price dropped on the 16gb so i was wondering if i could use 2 4gb sticks and 2 8gb sticks my motherboard is the asus rog 370e striz so it has 4 slots

You can as long as you keep the RAM paired, AKA slots 1 and 3 have the 8GB sticks and 2 and 4 have the 4GB sticks (or depends, check your MOBO manual)

You should be able to use the extra RAM, just make sure that when you install them that you put the RAM in the correct slots on the motherboard.  Slots 1 and 3 are matching so use them for the 2x4 sticks and then use slots 2 and 4 for the 2x8 sticks.  This will ensure that any dual channel functions should work.
