Budget/basic laptop needed

I am looking for help in finding a basic/budget laptop for my 16 year old daughter for Christmas. She will mostly be using it for school work, watching youtube, maybe chat( possibly video chat) with friends, that kind of thing. Real basic stuff. would like it to have a 1080p screen , have 1tb of storage and.... not sure, I know very little about laptops.

Any help/info would be great.

Thanks everyone.

There are some Asus transformer laptops that are refurbs off amazon, I got the mini which is a steal at like $200 as a 2 in 1, but they have some beefier models for the $350 price range that would be loads better.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Ontario Canada, not really, 15 inch or bigger i guess, aaannnnnnnd no idea how battery  life works, but guess i can say that it would be a feature i wouldn't be willing to spend extra on, especially at the expense of internal parts (like a stronger cpu or more memory for example)

oh, and while I know its out dated a optical drive would be a nice bonus (but not a deal breaker if missing)
