M.2 Support Question

Hi there,

 

According to my motherboard manual, my motherboard supports 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe x4/x2 SSD support)'

 

However, the M.2 that I'm planning on buying says this "M.2 port on the motherboard with PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 interface"

 

So what concerns me here is that my manual does not mention gen 3.0 

 

Would my motherboard (gigabyte gaming k3) support the Samsung 970 EVO 500GB?
