Getting an error 67 from my old MSI mobo, manual said late CPU initialization. Before it gets to that error it also briefly flashes 2f, meaning early memory initialization. I've tried:

  • Replugging the CPU power connector
  • Different ram sticks
  • Reinstalling the CPU
  • Checking the pins on the motherboard (they all look fine)
  • Clearing the cmos
  • Switching to a different clean bios (the board has a bios switch, I was using A and B was still stock, but when I switch to it I still get the same error)

FYI I'm not doing any overclocking, and cooling definitely isn't an issue, and I just got a brand new 850 watt PSU so I doubt it's that either. Any ideas?

EDIT: this is a second hand x79 board so it just being dead is also a possibility, however I don't see any physical damage to the board or connectors. If there is however a defect, would it be the motherboard or the cpu?
