Black Ops 4 High CPU Usage

Not sure if anyone may have found a reliable fix that worked for them, but I just had bought Black Ops 4 and played for a bit and noticed it uses 75% CPU usage which is incredibly high. Does anyone know the fix for this issue?

There's a simple fix, upgrade your system.

 

I'm joking, that's quite normal. Switch to Battlefield, you'll see 75% GPU usage.

Does more cores mean less CPU usage? Debating on upgrading to a 9700k but idk if the performance is gonna be that much different

More cores usually lowers the CPU utilization, but I don't think you'll gain anything from the upgrade, maybe if you had a 2080Ti you would.

It's not strange to see 75% CPU usage in games, especially if you uncap the framerate, your system will try to push as much fps as it can so it will make for higher load.

Incredibly high would be 100% and holding. Your CPU is designed to run at 100% or below. 75-95% is where you want it to run high demanding games. That means it's doing its job. You want to pay more attention to when it hits and holds 100%. This indicates your settings are too high for the current game. Lower some settings when this happens and you are good to go. If it doesn't lower the 100% when you lower the settings to the lowest settings, this would be a bottleneck indicator.

 

The most important thing to monitor is your CPU and GPU temps. High heat is what you don't want. Be sure to keep your CPU and GPU a good 10-15 degrees under their max temps. For example, my i5's max temp is 71 degrees so I try to keep the temps less than 56 degrees. It's fine to go above that but once it gets near 61 degrees, I know to lower certain settings or cap my frame rate in certain games.

 

Your GPU max temp is 91 degrees so if it's nearing 80 degrees, it's totally fine but I'd think about lowering some settings or capping frame rates when this happens. You want games to run in the 60's-70's temperatures. Again, 80's is totally fine but the more heat, the less lifespan of your GPU.

 

Your CPU max temp is 100 degrees. With a 5.0 OC, be sure to monitor your temps. I would think you have an excellent cooler so probably not much to worry about.
