Ok, so I bought an Msi gtx 1060 6gb gaming x and I was installing the drivers and my monitor flashed and said no signal and that’s usually normal but it was like that for an hour and I realized something was wrong with the card, so I turned my computer off and unplugged the graphics card and plugged the hdmi into my mobo and my computer booted fine (forgot to mention I couldn’t boot with my gpu now) so I need a way to install new drivers with out plugging in my gpu, or a way to force drivers into my gpu before/while booting (can I do that in my bios?) Idk please help I’m big freaking out

the card is supposed to have output even without drivers installed

go into the bios and make sure the primary gpu output is set to pci-e and not the integrated gpu and when the card is in the machine you only plug the monitor into the card.

I have it in the PCIe slot, when I said unpluggedd I meant I wasn’t giving it power and I had my integrated graphics booting. When my gpu is outputting and powered, I can’t even boot into my bios. Everything lights up like my keyboard and mouse and all of my internals, but one thing I noticed it that the light on it went back to white but it was red

just a stupid question: do you have your power cables connected to the gpu?

go into the bios and set the primary gpu to pci-e then plug the monitor into the card

use this with your intergrates graphics, then reinstall the drivers. and do what @emosun said. both can be a problem of it

Do I need to give the card power and a display output while doing this, because when I give my gpu power, EVEN IF MY MONITOR IS PLUGGED INTO MY INTRGEATED GRAPHICS, my computer just won’t boot

Well set the primary to igpu and keep the card plugged in like. Normal, should still be able to boot all the same. I do it all the time.

You don't. It's just to uninstall the display drivers from the 1060
