Posted December 1, 2018 I've had an SGI Octane collecting dust in my closet for the last 3 years. I got it for free because of how cool and badass they used to be. So I've been contemplating over the last couple of years about converting it. What does LTT think of this? Go for it, or blasphemy? I got it for free from a guy off craigslist, along with a couple of parted out Optiplex servers. The only thing I kept was the Octane. It wouldn't be a "dual system setup". I've already gutted it (need to put parts on Ebay). It'd be a dual boot Arch and Win10 system. There's been a couple of others who have done the conversion. It's not simple, but not exactly hard if you know how to do simple fabricating stuff. I love the door on the front, would probably repaint it white and back, rewire the front lights as red. Wouldn't happen until beginning of 2019, but I could fit any height cooler in it I wanted to! lol Never rub another man's rhubarb! 4.2225Ghz 1700x on air cpu-z validation
