i think by connecting it if you go to your camera there shuod be a dropdown where you can choose which camera it uses

i dont think those old dumb cameras has that kind of function, but besides. there is some app on android let you stream phone screen to computer using wifi or usb.

I don't know if the program supports point and shoot cameras but you can always try.
I know it works for DSLR though. The program is called Digicam Control. 

 

I've used it with my D3300, Just plug in your USB cable and your camera might show up in the program.
Open a live display of the camera and get rid of the focus rectangle in the settings. Then you can select it in OBS or screenshare it over Discord etc.
