PC powers on, but HDMI+USB aren't functioning.

Hey all, I have a dilemma.

Last night, my PC was working. I was playing black ops 2 and editing in my living room on my tv, and decided I wanted to move the computer back to my office (it's in the house.) Unfortunately, after I set it up, it powered on, the LEDs lit up on the gpu, but I wasn't getting any video out or USB power.

I've tried: holding the power button while the PSU is disconnected to discharge capacitors, removing the cmos battery and replacing it after a minute, I've validated that the hhd is perfectly fine, and that my gpu's video out is still working. I've tried leaving it powered off for 12 hours and trying it again. Nothing has worked. Is the mobo dead? The fans come on, the leds on my you light up, so I really don't know.

Also, I think it's worth mentioning that I didn't have a power outage or a storm hit my area during this time.

Thanks.

You said the video out is still working? Does it post? For the meantime, I would reseat everything (GPU, Ram, cables).

No, video out is not working, which is the main issue. I've already reseated the GPU and cables at least six times, but I'll try the ram.

Try the graphics card a different PCI slot. Also, if your MB has a build in HDMI port, try seeing if it works (given that your CPU has integrated graphics).

Just tried that. No luck. It was my old sysstem and my new one will be fine after I get win10, so not the biggest deal in the world, but no computer access for a month is seriously going to kill my editing motivation. rip.

It works now. No idea what was wrong, but reseated the ram, messed with the cables, took out and put back in the cmos battery, and it's alive. Am equally happy and confused lol.

Haha nice man! It's those pesky gremlins. Glad to hear it's alive again.
