First time using SSD

Hello,
So i've ordered my first SSD if if you guys please enlighten me in some questions i would really appreciate.

 

So, right now i only own a 1TB HDD divided in 2 partitions, one for the OS and the other for backup, i wanna know how do i procced to install the SSD, i have to unplug the HDD, install the SSD with the OS and then after put the HDD back? Or i can leave the HDD alone and install the SSD? If so i need to delete the OS partition from the HDD before installing the OS in the SSD?

A couple more question, my HDD is in MBR, do i need to convert to GPT before/after installing the SSD? If i don't need to delete the OS parition at HDD before all this, after this i'll remove it, leaving the HDD just for backup, is fine to convert from MBR to GPT without formating?

SSD Kingston A1000 M.2 2280 (cheapest one i could get it)

do you want to keep the old HDD boot partition? Or move data there to the SSD?

then after plugging the HDD back on, copy whatever in the boot partition you still want to keep to the second partition, format the boot partition, remove it, then extend the remaining partition.

Okay, so i don't need to worry about HDD being MBR and not GPT?

not in a way that affects its functionality. Of course you can change MBR to GPT afterwards for its advantages
