Keyboard issue

Ok, so i have a Lenovo Ideapad Y700. its about 2,5 years old. i use it for school and a bit gaming.

I have this problem where sometimes when im playing videogames (it has only happened when in a game) my keyboard just stops working.
i cant tell if the mousepad is still working or not since its turned off while im in game and i havent looked for another way to toggle it than fn+f6
i have the newest drivers, and have no idea why its happening... any ideas?

specs:
i5 6300HQ

8GB 2133MHz RAM

1TB 5400RPM SATA HDD
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M

flexible flat cable came loose from the connector on the motherboard? Or even just worn out.

Might be, but how is it it works fine every time i power the laptop on, and if it stops working it only takes a hard restart to fix it?

no idea. Maybe because it's not completely snapped?

i havent opened the laptop and done a hardware and cable check yet so i cant tell for sure...
i had a theory it might be related to the videogames heating up some cables or cable connectors, but it has happened without the laptop being noticeable hot so i dont know

ill probably poke around in there and try to diagnose the problem when im done with my exams
