Bitlocker performance

Did anyone tested bitlocker influence on iops with modern ssd? It looks like only Samsung supports tcg opal in their drives, all other ssds run in software mode.

There was a thing the other day saying how samsung and a few other SSD makers had been using hardware mode, and it actually not encrypting the drives at all in some cases... the recommendation was to have it do software mode anyway IIRC.
