touchpad stoped working

I opened my laptop to upgrade the wireless card, and now the touchpad doesn't work. I have no idea if the problem is software or hardware.

I'm pretty confident i connect it, because i have opened this laptop a few times now. In device manager there is no mention of the touchpad, but if choose "show hidden devices" it's there with a yellow triangle and a exclamation point, so i guess it's not dead as it is detected. The error code is "this device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed, (Code 24)"

i tried everything but nothing seems to work

It might seem obvious, but how about retracing your steps? You might come across a loose connection on the way, if it's a hardware issue.

there is a single connection for it and it's under the keyboard so you can see it's connected even without removing a single screw. If nothing works i will eventually take it all apart again (the 30 screws of different sizes are a pain) to see if i hurt any cable or something like that

IK there's an option in Windows that turns off your touchpad when you're using a mouse, maybe you accidently turned that on.

yes, i did destroy the contacts on the cable connecting it to the mobo. Still it was so big i cut a bit and inserted again, but nothing. Still i'm sure it is hardware because i reinstalled windows

RIP touchpad, i just don't know if the all board is gone or just the cable. If it's the mobo part i'm done. Going to buy the touchpad board and cable and see.

Thanks for the help guys.
