Needs some tips on soddering a battary socket to a old AM radio.

Matt_Allensy

I want to get a AM/Fm transmitter so I can hook up my Mp3 player too it. the radio does not have a aux cable. The box works with the power cord but not the battary socket.  I think this would be a cool travel radio.  But I have nover sodder before. So I need some tips on what to do to get started and so what. The battery base is completly rusted and requires 4 AAA battaries.

That's pretty corroded, I'd recommend to replace that battery holder with a new one. As for soldering it's best to do some test pieces first, overall you just need to have a decent soldering iron, some flux, wire strippers and solder.

Here's a really old but good guide on soldering techniques, there are multiple parts.
