Best Mouse for Game Devving?

OneEyeGuy!

Hi guys

i am new here, I recently brought a Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Gaming Mouse for game development in Unreal Engine 4. I'm just curious if there maybe a better mouse out there!?

It depends a lot on personal preference. The G502 is a really good mouse, but I prefer a less angular design, so I use a Corsair Sabre. If you don't like the G502 I'd recommend going to some stores and trying some other ones out.

My main computer:

i7 6700k || GTX 1070 || Asus Z170 RGB || C.M. Hyper 212 EVO || 16GB RAM || 256GB NVMe SSD || 500GB SATA SSD || 12TB total HDD || Define R5 Blackout || 850W PSU

More Details Below :)

Spoiler

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k                             GPU:  EVGA GTX 1070 FTW                                  |  Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Aura
CPU Cooler: C.M. Hyper 212 EVO             RAM: 16GB Kingston Fury 4x4 DDR4 2400MHz         SSD:  Intel 256GB NVMe SSD & Plextor 500GB SATA SSD

Hard Drive:  WD 2TB Black, 2TB WD Blue, 8TB WD Red     Case:  Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition   PSU:  Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 850W

Additional Computer Parts: NZXT Hue for LEDs

Peripherals: Dell U2414H (x2) || Corsair Sabre RGB || Corsair K95 Platinum || Sennheiser 558's || Modmic

I looked at the G502 and the G703 and liked both but in the end I went for the G502 because of all the programmable buttons it has! I just find the cable annoying because I went from a cheap, office grade, boring, tiny, non gaming wireless Logitech mouse to a very good WIRED gaming mouse and well I just prefer wireless. I also really like how your able to change the scroll wheel on the G502 and that's why I'm interested in the G903 as a possible future upgrade as it also has a scroll wheel like the G502.

I fail to see how mouse would improve your gamedev life that much. I mean yeah, a good mouse is good mouse but it won't affect your gamedev capabilities at all in the end. You would be fine with old-school ball mouse lol.

Agreed. I use my Logitech MX master, a cheap Logitech mouse for a laptop, and a 10 year old ball mouse. The ball mouse has a nice nostalgic feel. Mmm

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

32gb 3200mhz gskil

Corsair M65 is good and comfy for me. I also hear good things about their new wireless gaming mouse.

Macros. You can set every button on the G502 to do a keyboard input, which can save time.
