Single Sided Memory Compatibility with Mobo

I'm thinking about buying the asus p8h61 - m lx3 plus r2.0 and the seller says that it may not support single sided memory, so i was wondering if I could use single sided ram and if I can't then how do I tell the difference between sigle and dual sided.

Double Sided RAM has chips on both sides, Single Sided RAM has chips on only one side.

Why not just use double sided?

Also, why something so old/outdated?

The reason I'm using such an old mobo is because I want to take the cpu and out of an old pc and use it for a budget gaming pc.
