Should I get a GTX 980 or wait till the mining craze ends?

Hi! I had an RX 470 for a few months, but recently the mining craze has raised the GPU price by almost 100%. So I sell my RX 470 for a price of about 300 $ US. Now I am confused to find a replacement, miners take all the GTX 1060. I do not want to downgrade to GTX 1050 (Ti). My choices are R9 390 and GTX 980 which can be purchased in my country.

 

Do I have to wait until the mining craze ends or I buy a GTX 980? Or even R9 390? The price of GTX 980 and R9 390 is about 200-280$

You can sell your 470 for more than MSRP. Though be quick about it as mining is dying.

I already sold it for 300 $. So there's no way turning back.

A 980 is about equivalent to a 1060 so if you find a cheap 980 then I guess that's an upgrade from a 470.

I would expect Vega to be out of your price range. I mean the lowest Vega might be as low as $300 if you are lucky but I'm not a mind reader we will have to wait and see
