Build Looking For Advice

zydm

You might want to consider the R5 1600, since it is cheaper and better (depending on workload).

The motherboard in the build you suggested has one USB port more lol and 8 USB ports are plenty.

Oh I'm sorry I must have been looking at a different motherboard! The one I was looking at only had 4 ports! MB!

NOTE: I have a 980 Ti to go with this.

Tell me how it looks, if i'm missing anything, how to improve it etc!

Thanks!

It looks good, i would keep them all especially the PSU, inthink it is alright.

now let's talk about the CPU, nowadays i5s are slowly being knocked out from the ring as Ryzen 5 1600 is in the same price tag but brings you more improvements! Just see the core difference may be little but 3 times the thread of any i5, but that core difference is matters too! Just see some benchmarks (witcher 3) the i5 is 4.7GHz CPU usage is 80% *fart sound here*

while the 1600X (Ryzen) uses only 50%! That gives you more raw power than i5 so you can prevent bottlenecks by giving power to CPU even more than i5 (well i5 does bottleneck SLI GTX 1070)

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).

Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later

Spoiler

My head on 2019 :

Note 10, S10, Samsung becomes Apple, Zen 2, 3700X, Renegade X lol

This is great advice thank you!

I'll switch the motherboard and CPU up and see what I come up with! Maybe have to change around some things we'll see!

And remember though that the 1600 without X is also fine, also equipped with wraith spire (stock cooling). You can overclock the non X chip and get the X chip speed, saves you money in that way
