ROG Strix Z270E Gaming vs ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE

I'm putting together a new build for the first time in over 10 years. I'm trying to decide on a mobo and I keep going back and forth. I've been between the ROG Strix Z270E Gaming and the ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE. Are there any real differences between the two, besides lights and some plastic "armor"? Thanks for your input LTTC!

Buy the Z270E, the mobo wont affect perfomance. The ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE is not worth the extra bucks.
