H97M-E motherboard

It will but not at the full rated speed because 9 series mother board can only supply gen 3x2 pcie lane to the SSD. The SSD need pcie 3x4 to work at it rated speed.

 

In short, yes it will work but not optimally.

System Spec: H87 mobo from Zotac, I3 4130, 4GB ddr3 1600mhz Cas 11, WD green 2TB all in side of a Cooler Mater Elite 120

same deal, to get the most out of your m.2 nvme drive, you need a 100 series chipset mobo
