Touching up Noctua fans

BrapYeah

If I were to paint the side of the fan, would that through it off? I plan to have it under a radiator so only a little will be seen. If I painted a bit of the shell, would it put it off balance and effect noise and performance?

the outside of the fan case shouldn't affect the airflow. but make sure not to get any paint on the curved inside of the fan (the fan tunnel) or the fan blades

when i painted my Noctua NH-D14 and fans i had no performance effect.

i did have to re-shoot a NF-P14 fan, i got to much paint (sag) on one blade.

other than that, no complaints or performance issues to speak of. same 72° 4.6GHz 1.290vCORE loaded

before (unpainted) to after painting.

Thanks, just figured I'd double check as I assumed at least someone would have tried it
