Multi monitor sharpness

Say if i play battlefield 3 at 5760x1200 (3x 1200p monitors) would it have a sharper image (or better image quality) than playing at 1920x1200?

Also what card would you get for this setup, im thinking of watercooled 7970's, 7990 or gtx titan/790 ( if it comes out )

It wont have a sharper image but you'd have more peripheral vision! For multimonitor gaming AMD is better/easier to set up ( i think ) so for me 7970's would be gooood

They represent the pixels that are in the other monitors! Since triple monitors will have more horizontal pixels ( cant find a better way to describe them ) it will be 1920 times 3 = 5760,  and since the height of the monitor is still the same, that remains 1080. Dont know if this was clear but yeah :P

Not really lol. Cuz theres still 3 x the horizontal pixels but the same image. I cant comprehend it lol : )

Yeah but if for example you are playing a racing game with triple monitors, so a resolution of 5760x1080, you will be able to see the passenger window whereas in just a resolution of 1920x1080 you would not, in a game like COD, you would see further around your arms

There are more pixels, yes but they are spread out over the 3 displays so each individual display still retains the same amount of pixels.

 

Images gets sharper when there are more PPI (pixels per inch) on the displays. But on double or triple displays, each one still retains the same PPI. All you are doing is adding more displays to show you more things.

 

Example A:

Imagine if the number "1" represents the pixels of each of your displays. So if you have three of them, it will be like this: 1+1+1. The total becomes "3" but it's still "1" for each display.

 

Example B:

Imagine each of this pictures is in each monitor

 

 

 

 

 

When you span them in surround they'll be like this

 

 

All you are doing by combining the 3 monitors is basically making your screen longer.

It depends what games you play and at what settings you want to play at.

 

Remember that at 5760x1200/1080, it takes 3-4 Titans to play Crysis 3 at max settings.

Yeah basically just wanna get as high end as possible, although i think 1000 on a carc is a bit much so 7970s might be the way. Although i read they wernt so good in crossfire playing crysis 3
