Need Help Picking out a Monitor

Server_42

Hi, I am looking at either get one (1) monitor or two (2) of the same monitors (depending on the price). I need it for CAD work, programming, gaming, and productivity. Being good for CAD and productivity is more of a priority than gaming. However, I would like to do some gaming including competitive games. I would prefer a good balance of both and either a 32" or an ultrawide. I'm planning on getting a 3080 FE (when restocked) so my budget is about $1,400, however, I would prefer to spend less then that if possible.

Thanks in advance for the help and recommendations.

A few quick questions before I recommend anything:

  1. If you're doing some competitive gaming, I'd recommend a high refresh rate display, maybe 120hz/144hz. Any preference there?
  2. Have you looked into resolutions? With a 3080 you'll be able to hit 144hz pretty easily at 4K in competitive games like CS:GO and Overwatch, and it'll help with overall image clarity in CAD work, but 1440p will be significantly cheaper.
  3. Do you need HDR for photo or video editing?

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

1. I'm fairly new to competitive gaming and I do not have a preference.

2. 4K would be a really nice to have especially if it will help with image clarity for CAD work.

3. I do not currently do photo or video editing, however, I do want to try video editing though.

if u are not too serious in gaming even a curved 1080p monitor will be fine
