Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Help

Squishy1870

Hey all

So i have a Acer X34 Predator - 3440x1440P at 95Hz.i only have a GTX1080 (MSI one the cheapest one on the market) im playing COD MW 2019 with all setting on low and very low im get over 80-105FPS but the game looks that bad i really cant see much and starting to get over it. i cant afforded to get a new GPU as i lost my job due to COVID-19 in Australia.

Anyway i wanted to see if i can run the game at 1920x1080p at 95Hz on my screen i know at 21:9 is going to be stretched so i was hopping to run the game at 16:9 and 1920x1080P with black bars.

But want happens the game runs at 1920x1080P full screen 16:9 and stretched out but soon and i change it to full screen boaderless the game Display Resolution is locked and Render Resolution is at 3440x1440 but i have black bars at 16.9

Any Help ? or the game is running at 1920x1080

OP, You shouldnt need to go that far to get better performance... heck you shouldnt need to use low settings for it even...

I dont know what framerate you're shooting for but according to a quick look a 1080 should get 69 fps at 2560x1440 Ultra settings, granted your ultrawide will be slightly worse due to extra pixels, but dropping from Ultra to Low seems extreme

Beyond that, How bout using the built in resolution scaling? Set your resolution to 3440x1440 and try a render resolution of like, 85-90, that should improve framerate for you without giving up ultra wide, And id turn the settings up closer to Ultra

Agreed.  Im running a Ryzen 5 2600X with an EVGA GeForce 1070 TI 8GB SC Black on an X34 P and I get anywhere between 60 and 95 FPS on Ultra so dont see why you would need to drop resolution at all.    These are my current settings:

How much ram do you have? I know someone else was having serious FPS issues and it turned out he didnt have enough ram

That said your FPS sounds "in the range" its just cranking down from Ultra doesnt seem to give you much performance back

It sounds right, I dunno if you're going to be able to get a solid 95hz or so without a GPU upgrade or using the reolution scale at like 85 or 90 which should give you the balance of IQ and performance you're looking for

Yeah, the 8700 non k should still be pretty solid for a bit now, Especially at 1440p where you shouldnt need to worry as much about cpu limiting :)

I'd wait till later in the year for Ampere/Big Navi(I mean, thats legit what I personally am doing to replace my 1080 Ti) so its tough to say really as we do not know prices of those yet. You've held onto the 1080 for a while and itd suck to possibly buy something now and in 6 months see it get completely dunked by a new card. Especially with newer cards likely handling things like Ray Tracing far better.

same plan here.   I figure going with slightly lower FPS but keeping everything looking as good as I can makes the most sense

Im no pro but i see no difference in my ability to get kills going up 20 fps (plus i snipe a lot so fps doesnt matter) in this range so I choose quality

I very much like to play at the best quality most of the time within reason, The reason is if i cant at least achieve 60...

BFV is one game i play at 1440p for example (or whatever 85% scale of 4k is) because while a lot of the time 4k runs pretty ok when it decides to take a dive it runs into the ground. Fast. The other game I did that with was Jedi Fallen Order where honestly, yeah it didnt look as good, but the wildly swinging framerate was murdering me as i was playing it on my OLED TV which has no variable refresh or anything...

In MW ive been pretty lucky playing it at full 4k just fine

nice! yer it not bad i was trying to get the highest FPS in MW but it looks like shit! and the fps is not that high really on 1440p bur after putting all on high and running 95% 80FPS is fine :) 60-80 is what i get but all in all very happy :)
