Asus AURA not detecting Asus Crosshair VI Hero Motherboard

So I was able to successfully install Asus AURA without issue. Upon launching the app, it is able to detect and edit the effects of my RAM, but will not recognize the motherboard or RGB strip connected to said motherboard. Oddest part is that the RGB strip and motherboard are both cycling through colors in a rainbow pattern, so they work and are enabled in the BIOS. I even tried removing the RGB strip to see if there was any interference. Nope. Still doesn't detect the motherboard. I even tried disabling / restarting computer / enabling the RGB in the BIOS. No luck. I have tried uninstalling AURA multiple times, only to arrive at the same result. Also, the GUI for AURA seems to be missing an option for sync at shutdown.

I know it's just pretty lights but: I just want my lights to sync up nicely.

If anyone has any idea why Asus AURA can't detect an Asus AURA compatible motherboard, I am a desperate little computer man.
