rebuild of a now dead craptastic system

so 3 or 4 months ago my FX-6350 build died, surviving nearly 7 years with only a 8 to 16gb ram upgrade and a GT630 to RX460 upgrade until the board died on me

surviving on Playstation 2 alone ive been planning for a few months on doing a little bit of an overhaul whilst getting my rig back online id been hoping on downsizing so im using this as an excuse to do that at the same time

  • the CPU will be a used 1500x, theyre 60 to 70 quid and anything will be better than my old FX
  • RAM will be a couple of 8gb dimms at 2800+ for 16gb so when i upgrade down the line i'll get the extra performance boost from the higher frequency, be it used or new whatever's cheaper
  • i'll reuse my RX460 4GB since it can handle 1080p 60fps on most of the games i play, mainly indie games and older titles since ive never cared for AAA and part of me theorizes my FX bottlenecked the 460 even minutely so it might have an extra bit of performance on a Ryzen chip
  • my board will be ASRock's Fatal1ty B450 ITX, its cheap, its small and im not gonna push the vrm since im sticking to 65 watt cpus at best
  • im reusing my old FX Wraith cooler since an AM4 backplate and clip bracket costs less than 10 quid and its a little giant in capability
  • im planning on getting an Evolv ITX since despite its smaller footprint it still gives me massive cooling potential down the line, and i'll combine the provided 200mm fan with a Phanteks PH-F140SP_BK on the rear for exhaust since theyre about 10 quid a pop and itll give me a more streamlined airflow, plus itll match the 200mm's colours
  • a TX550M will power it since its a slightly cheaper RM to my knowledge and im not gonna use anymore than a 65 watt cpu and a 8 pin gpu so power draw wont be a concern
  • and for storage im getting an WD SN500 500gb for boot since im not gonna be doing anything that requires more than 2 gig a second speeds, a Seagate Barracuda 3 terabyte for all my random crap like photos, isos, mods, torrents etc and a used 1tb SSD thatll be solely a game drive and nothing more since prices are still 100+ quid on new 1TB SSDs outside of offers

itll come to about 600 quid, probably slightly more, but im not pulling the trigger right now since im gonna be getting the funds for it over the months in the new year so i figured id ask on here for advice

Advice on what?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Pricing advice is of course near impossible.  On a lot of this I just don’t know.  I can give you what I have:

I recall reports of 1500s being pretty hard to find lately.

2800mhz memory is fast enough for 2xxx but 3xxx could have possible issues with it.  It likes 3000 to 3600.  I suppose 2800 would function though
