AMD A8 9600 & ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming MB Boot Kit?

Who said that of cheaper motherboards of the X570 motherboard line that the ASUS Prime X570-P was probably the best in far as VRM construction.

Imo too bad the TUF board and gigabyte elite board offer much more for a little price increase.

Going back to my earlier statement on ram... I should explain: In my current machine -the FX8370 I use 4 ram sticks: two 16GB and two 8GB sticks.

It seems quite stable and performs well on this system.

So was planning that for the Ryzen build as well... yet being with the whole new hardware design that Ryzen is with memory (or at least their interaction) would that actually decrease performance and should go either 4 16 GB Sticks or 4 8GB sticks or is two by two alright?

To keep things simple, let's say you should prioritize high capacity per stick rather than more sticks.

One other question the Ram sticks that I linked before match in everything except size and one says its Dual Rank and the other says Single Rank -is that the chips on the ram stick are on one side and the other has them on both or is it their data rate -don't see the info on the site page pretaining to it or is it something else?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MR1HWXT/

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNJP6RW

for DDR4, 8 chips count as a rank. Your stick has 16 chips? That's dual rank. Those silly tall 32GB non-REG sticks with 32 chips? That's quad rank.

PCI 1.0 slot in the place where it is needed -above the first PCI-Express slot.

why strictly above the graphics card? Shouldnt impact airflow of the graphics card if put down at the bottom.

Ok so one of the Ram sticks been looking at is single rank which would consist of 8 chips on the stick and the other is dual which means 16 chips on the stick... So is there any harm in running dual rank and single rank sticks if two of each?

no, unless you're really into memory overclocking in which it will get worse

As to prioritizing Ram by capacity does that mean the higher capacity in slots 1 and 3 and lower in 2 and 4 slot on the motherboard or did I miss something?

Prioritizing RAM capacity rather than speed, I should stress. Position of sticks dont matter when you're filling all of them in

Since I currently have 24 GB and max it out everyday would it be better for just a 16 GB times two then and leave at 32GB?

Yup. If you still run out of memory, add another 32GB kit. It's somehow cheaper in many occassions to buy 2 32GB kits rather than a 64GB kit, somehow.

Actually it will obstruct the flow of air since putting an air fan box along side the graphics card:

61VCoz+Cx4L._SL1001_.jpg

Also one on top and between them to pull air up and out and one 120 mm at the back to push air toward the back panel and out of the computer.

This not the model that I am getting though -that model hooks into the PCI 1.0 slot. That is why need a PCI 1.0 above the motherboard for the remote.

So basically order of the memory matters little anymore than it used to on other hardware?

Could that hypothetically mean that if I got a 4 GB stick and a 8 GB stick and a 16 GB stick and a 32 GB stick it wouldn't matter the order it would still come to 60GB or in a case like that should be prioritized to the higher to lower?

why air fan box? That thing is worse than removing the stock graphics card fans and replacing them with thicker case fans

PCI? or PCIe? I dont think there are X570 boards with PCI.

Did it ever matter?

Now that setup will definitely upset dual channel setup. Sure it can engage flex mode, but you'll get 24GB dual channel and the rest as single channel. Dont know if there are more problems on Ryzen with that tho Intel gets by that no problem

Note the default fans on the GPU will be removed for 120 Noctua's.

Again that is not the design air box that I am building out of many fan cards.

When mine is done it will not be nearly as constrictive.

For a comparison in size look at the ASUS Prime X570-P board and basically make a box from the GPU slot to the bottom of the last PCI slot at the bottom of the board. I am building in a Thor V2 case from Rosewill so plenty of space beyond the board to bring more air into the card fan box.

If the small slots are also PCI Express 4.0 then whoops! {bit confusing to have the two different slot sizes referred to as the same thing. PCI E to me is GPU slot and the smaller slots have been PCI 1.0}.

Wait I would get 24 GB to run dual channel? How does that compute?

I would have to theorize that according to the layout above that would most likely mean the 8 and 16 correlate into dual channel? Didn't think that could occur with the other two there.

32GB and 4GB stick in one channel, 8 and 16GB the other. Dual channel only work as far as both channels have spare capacity
