Control RGB header with mystic light

I have a z370 GAMING PLUS motherboard and a coolermsster hyper 212 black edition with an RGB fan. I have connected the RGB cable to the RGB header on the motherboard. I cannot figure out how to control the RGB header! MysticLight seems unaware that there is an RGB device connected to the header.

Is my header broken? Is MysticLight not the right program for controlling that header?

I know the RGB fan works, because I can control it with the hardware RGB controller that came with the fan

EDIT: Figured it out, the RGB cable has to be *completly* connected to the RGB header. If the PC gets bumped even slightly, the cable comes loose and disconnects. Whats the best way to keep the cable connected?
