Unable to disable 1.1.1.1 app!

Frenky

So I used the 1.1.1.1 phone app for a while, all good, but I've set up my own DNS now (a pihole) so I wanted to disable the 1.1.1.1 app and start using my own dns on my wifi network. Problem is, this damn app is not letting me change the DNS, ever!

What I've tried:

- Disable 1.1.1.1 (obviously), does not let me change my dns on my phone...

- Uninstall 1.1.1.1 still forces me to use 1.1.1.1 with DNS over HTTPS.

- Phone reboot, no change

- Forgetting my network and logging in again, still forced to use 1.1.1.1

Phone: Galaxy A5 (2017)

Android version 8.0.0

What the hell is this?!

Edit: I'm checking if the phone is still using 1.1.1.1 by going to http://1.1.1.1/help

I'm sorry I should have been more clear. So after disabling and uninstall the 1.1.1.1 app, I put my wifi connection to my network to either DHCP (and use my router dns config) or use a custom dns, say 8.8.8.8. No errors or anything, and the phone accepts my configuration. However when checking http://1.1.1.1/help it's clear that my phone is still using configuration set by the 1.1.1.1 application, even when its uninstalled and everything!

Try using a different page like dnsleaktest.com I always use that one to check what dns I am using
