hi,

 

i have a 6800k with a h80i that is getting quite hot when im playing league of legends im sitting at 70 c with the fans spinning at 2160 rpm so i need a update i guess,

 

can you guys advice me?

If you have a compatible case you can go for a Corsair H100i series cooler, they have been going on sale a lot recently, I had the H100i v2 for almost 5 years and it recently went out on me, I picked up the H100i Pro RGB for $89.99 on sale at my local Best Buy. I'd say to go for a 240mm or 280mm aio if it's getting that hot especially if you plan on, or are overclocking.

Radiator in the front is fine, basically anywhere your case supports it.

You can but your temps more than likely will be worse with air unless you get a beefy air cooler, possibly a be quiet dark rock or similar, a hyper 212 is going to be just a bit better than if you used an intel stock cooler.

Also if your h80i is old it could be getting that hot because you need to repaste it or it has another issue such as a failing pump or build up in the block, a friend of mine had one that he used for a few years and it started getting way to hot, he replaced it thinking it was a failing pump, it was actually build up in the pump and block of just goopy green sludge, algae and other stuff, which a few versions had a similar issue back in the day with Corsair aios.

Have you checked for dust build up lately? Even if it's in a case with dust filter you can get crazy build up after a couple of years in between the radiator fins. This is easily fixed with a can of compressed air. After making sure it's clean re-apply a high quality thermal paste like Thermal Grizzly.

 

That cooler should be plenty enough for that CPU unless it has some crazy overclock on it.

Before you go out and buy all of that. I would take apart the h80, Clean out the dust and repaste it I have a H60 For my brother's R5 1400 And after me using for 3 years and handing it down to him its running fine. Although you have a higher heat output cpu I just wanna put that in context

im not overclocked but the case is agianst the wall ( not fully ) but maybe its better the mount it in the front but my case is a case of scrapyard war full metal no real ventalation so im locking for a new case really

I recommend getting a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 because it's silent, looks decent, cost-effective, and competes with decent AIO liquid coolers. AIO liquid coolers are generally loud, overpriced, and unreliable compared to air coolers, therefore I don't recommend getting one of them.
